An iPad game possibly as addictive as Angry Birds: Sin or Win
A few months ago I had the pleasure of meeting the man behind Toxic Blob, Jamie McCarter, at one of our GDP Wing Nights. He’s a local game developer creating a new game for the iPad pretty much all by himself (with an assist on music). The game is called Sin or Win, and I can tell you from experience that I think this game is going to do well. its one of the more addictive iPad games I’ve played in a long time, from the mechanics to the art work, to the sound effects and animations, this game has a lot going for it.
When Jamie handed me the game for the first time I asked him what to do, he told me to F off….ok maybe he didn’t say those exact words, he actually told me to figure it out for myself, and he wasn’t trying to be an ass about it. Part of what he was trying to do was to create a game that you could discover new things in, feel like you are figuring things out for yourself, and at the same time, enjoy some simple game mechanics. he compared it to the golden years of NES when you’d rent a game and just jump right in, the game had no training levels or ways to teach you what to do, and no real gamer looked at an instruction booklet!
Since this is just a preview and not a full review I don’t want to give to much away from my experiences just yet. but watching this newly released trailer should give you a good idea of what the game is like.
