(Video) Cube World
Word on Twitter today is that Mojang picked up the creator of Cube World, Wollay, today for $3.14 millionĀ (jk, no idea how much they offered or what salary was discussed). Earlier today Notch, the creator of Minecraft, tweeted:
Our current plan is to plug his brain directly to a keyboard and sell whatever comes out.
This is high praise from Notch, who followed the tweet up with this drawing:

Based on the prerelease videos that Wollay has posted on his site, the trillion dollar investment is well worth it. I get the feeling after watching the Cube World video (that yes – looks a lot like Minecraft) is that the game, even in its infancy, is where Minecraft has been headed lately with the inclusion of randomly generated buildings and castles as well as the experience point and levelling system. It makes perfect sense that Mojang would acquire Cube World and merge the two (if possible) and make some kind of Voltron-like game that’ll sweep the indie community off its voxel feet.
