Insert Coin:

Corey fills us in on some Starcraft II he’s been playing. Since finishing the campaign long ago, he’s been playing bots with his brother to work back up to playing other humans again. Andrew picked up LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and has lots of positive comments about it. Mathew posted a video on YouTube of a game-ending bug that exists in the Xbox 360 demo, but despite that, he’s really enjoying it. Mathew’s family bought him Max Payne 3 for Father’s Day (awwww!) and has been enjoying it. Corey and Andrew call dibs on borrowing it first.

Bounty Board:

Warren, Ian, and Matt hit us with popular news from the past week. Capcom is reissuing Okami in HD this fall on the PS3. It will be compatible with Move and is being priced at $19.99 on PSN. In other news, Valve has hired an economics professor “…to study and help improve their various virtual economies. Yanis Varoufakis says he’ll be writing “weekly reports on our projects, experiences and ideas regarding Valve’s various social ‘economies’” as he goes.” His first post can be found here. Warren fills us in on the first big Diablo III patch which is causing some controversy in the player’s community due to some of the changes that Blizzard has made. In terms of tech hardware, Apple’s new Retina MacBook Pro was released and the Microsoft Surface tablet was unveiled (with a minor foible to boot).

Warp Zone:

Mat and Ian duke it out in this week’s debate, and with the addition of a ’secret word’ for extra points, our host Matt is absolutely shocked at the end! FYI, the secret word is ‘fuck.’ This week’s topics are:

  • Is the Microsoft Surface the next revolution?
  • Are games too violent?
  • In a game of Clue, who would win — Link vs. Max Payne?
  • How can video game reviews be so different between different reviewers?
  • Is a number rating system for game reviews good or bad?
