After missing the previous week due to a snow storm, we’re back in the studio. We figure out why NBA2K14 streams without any sound, Corey tries his hand at developing a space program and Mathew is playing Minecraft again with the Hexxit mod. Corey, Mathew and Jeremy have been playing Magic: The Gathering (yes, the physical CCG) via Google Hangouts and Andrew is loving latest Zelda on his 3DS. Ian and Warren tried Ibb & Obb (free for PS+ right now) and Warren also played Resogun. News this week includes HeroQuest Kickstarter, PSN Store coming to Amazon and PS4 sales.
Andrew takes over hosting responsibilities this week as we settle down in his amazing home theatre. The PS4 was released on 11/15 so we mainly focus on that while playing Need for Speed: Rivals on his 108″ screen. Not bad!
Ian’s still deep into the PS+ freebies and this week he digs into Hotline Miami. Corey’s been working away at more GTAV and giving Tiny Tower another shot, this time with Tiny Death Star. Andrew has been gearing up to play NBA2K14 on the PS4 by playing NBA2K14 on the PS3. He’s also been enjoying Batman Arkham Origins on PC with his son. Warren’s been into the FPSs with Call of Duty Ghosts and Battlefield 4. Beyond that we discuss the recent insane Future Shop / Best Buy trade in deal as well as the impending PS4 launch.
Gaming this week includes Dead Pixel, League of Legends, Hearthstone, Batman Arkham City, GTAV, Skylanders Giants, A Wolf Among Us, Windwaker HD, NHL ‘14, Civ5 and Diablo III. High five to Toronto Mayor Rob Ford who reminds us that everything is better (i.e. crack-cocaine smoking) when done in a drunken stupor.
Corey is enjoying Zombicide, the ‘Hero Quest with Zombies’ game he Kickstarted. Other gaming this week includes Diablo III, LEGO: Marvel Super Heroes, Windwaker HD, League of Legends, Golfstar, Worms, Little Big Planet and Batman: Arkham City. We’ve got some hands-on impressions of the new PS4 controller and well as some discussion on PS4 launch news. Titanfall was confirmed to be a Xbox One/Xbox 360/PC exclusive.
Some of this week’s gaming includes: You Don’t Know Jack, Kingdoms of Amalur, Star Command, NBA2K14, GTAV, Terreria and Castle of Illusion. In news, there was a great deal of confusion and difficulty when PAX East tickets went on sale, Andrew picked up an Xbox 360 for $50, Titanfall to be released on March 11 and the iPad Air is announced.
Ian’s pretty deep into Diablo III while the rest of the crew play a smattering of GTAV, League of Legends, Star Command, Pokemon X, NBA2K14, Dota 2 and Forza Horizon. Mathew fired up the OUYA and gave Knightmare Tower and Reaper a try. We also talk about the Steam controller, League of Legends Twitter leaks and a Madcatz microconsole.
The entire team spent the past weekend at the annual ‘corporate’ retreat and as it so happens, only half are on hand for this episode. The retreat is essentially 3.5 days of non-stop gaming. Highlights were TowerFall, Trials Evolution, Pandemic (tabletop), Penny Arcade deck building game, Star Trek Catan, Lords of Waterdeep, Munchkin, NBA 2K14, Guardians of Middle Earth and GTA V.
We’re gearing up for our annual ‘corporate’ retreat and have a bunch of games on the docket including Golfstar, GTAV, NBA2K14, The Legends of Zelda Windwaker HD, Diablo III and League of Legends. Some of the big news items of the week include the Steambox controller, Steve Ballmer announces retirement, Halo 3 announced as second free game for October, new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag trailer, Mighty No. 9 and a farewell to Tom Clancy.
Project Play was this past weekend at Fanshawe College and was, by all accounts, a huge success! We also hit topics such as GTAV, Hearthstone, League of Legends (world championship is ongoing), Lords of Waterdeep, Steam Machine announcement, Microsoft’s Games with Gold offering for the first half of October and a new South Park.
